Music - the healer

Ever felt how the delicate notes of a melody change your mood? Ever noticed how music, delicate and soft, heavy and hard, in whatever and whichever form is capable of turning around the feelings in a day? The sound of music, the mystery of the notes and the turning around of the emotions seem to be strangely linked. The sound of music is not just a sound, it is a power, it is a combination of power mixed with the weird and unexplainable force that is able to touch the hearts. This is the music, the healer.

Often music has been associated with happiness and with celebration. Music is played at weddings and parties, music is played at receptions and convocations, during parades and matches. Music is used as an inspiration during wars. In all its beauty, music has the power to win wars, to help people and even mend broken hearts. Music in all its sense is the true healer of everything that is destructive and cruel.

Music and moods:

Music is often played according to the moods, a sad mood commands a sad tune and a happy mood commands an elated tune. But that is only using music to enhance the power of the moods and not as a healing component of life. As surprising as it may seem, music has the capability to not just enhance moods but also to change the entire mood itself. Ever tried playing a happy music while depressed? Notice the change in moods, the 180 degree turn from being depressed to being happy? Yes sir, that’s music for you. But what it really takes is jumping into the mood to actually change the music. We seldom do that, don’t we?

If the next time you find yourself stuck in a bad mood, just go on and switch on that music and feel the mood change in a jiffy.
