The Independence day

Independence, they say, is what we won today,

Independence, to live, life in our own way.

Independence, to be what we ever want to,

Independence, to see, just what we need to.

In dependence forever, we forget what it means,

To live free, is more difficult than it seems.

To imagine a haven, without any rules,

To live a life without the governing fools.

About Independence they forever talk,

While tying us in chains in every walk.

They talk about freedom, they talk about right,

While pitting us against, go, kill and fight.

Take away my independence, I don’t much care,

Take away my rights, just a fashion wear.

But give me back my freedom, let me just be,

No rules, no chain, please unshackle me.

Freedom from you, freedom from them,

Freedom to live, just as I can.

Freedom, I long much, in a country so “free”,

Freedom, I know, mine it can never be.
