Does Nature Get Back?
59We have been dependent on nature for all our needs right from the time life started. This dependency has reached a point where we are no longer dependent but have started exploiting nature. With science and technology to our aid we feel we can get the better of nature and in fact we no longer need it. We can take care of ourselves. Unabated construction has left no trees in the cities. We have reached a stage where we actually have oxygen bars to let us have a whiff of pure oxygen. But nature never complains it just gets back.
It's been millions and millions of years, we have cut down trees, created industries, even life but we have not been able to conquer nature. All our warning systems and all our technology cannot prevent floods and famines. The beauty of rain can only be created by nature. The sunrise and the sunset, again wonders of nature. Can our tanning machines and our showers beat the natural ones? But we think they are better. We force nature to get back.
Better medical facilities mean a longer life span. And a longer life span means a bigger population. There is a limit to how much nature can provide. When there is more than nature can handle we have these natural calamities. And all the technically savvy man can do is watch. We have floods, famines and cyclones. We have earthquakes and eruptions. But we continue our war against nature. We innovate and we device better machines to understand how nature works. But nature is way too smart for us.
We have erased forests to draw cities. Architectural marvels built to challenge nature. But nature survives. Shrubs and plants grow in the unlikeliest of places. There is grass and shrubs growing on the sides of unattended roads and pavements. There are some really nice flowers growing where no one has ever tended to plants. Till date we have not been able to remove nature completely from our cities. Plants survive the smoke and the emissions of the cities better than humans. There have been predictions that massive deforestation in the cities have given rise to lesser rainfall in the cities. But has rainfall really reduced? Rains may be less a particular year but the average rainfall is always the same. But we have an easy suspect in nature. If the rains are more than expected we blame deforestation. If they are less, we again have the same reason.
We fail to realize that we are part of nature. When we change, the environment around us changes. This in turn has a changing effect on nature. We cannot break away from nature and try to mess around with it because when we change something, there is something else that is affected as well.
Its time mankind realized that we have to live in conjunction with our environment and stop trying to rule it. We have faced dire consequences whenever we have tried to prove our upper hand. Entire cities have been erased. The loss of lives has been insurmountable. And what comes when we move out? Nature. Plants begin to sprout and the soil turns fertile but we never learn. We continue to try to beat down nature. It's time we realized nature is too strong for a mere race to handle.

Very ggod thoughts. Try to be more elaborate and reach the 1500 words mark. Check out your hub metricks. Target the internet, not the hubpages community. You are an excellent writer, be broad and you will be the best in the business.
